He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mazyck and Florence Pickney Mazyck; his siblings, John A. Sumpter, Elijah John Mazyck Jr., Francis Mazyck, Samuel "Pappy" Mazyck, Dorothy Howard, Mildred Stephens, Elizabeth Myers and Thirlestine Scott; and his grandson Christian Pasquine.
He is survived by: his sons, Jermaine Alphonza Mazyck and Tavares Lamar Mazyck Sr.; his grandchildren, Breonna Staton, Onaji A. Mazyck, Coran Mazyck, Desiree Mazyck, Tavares L. Mazyck Jr., Tahjai L. Mazyck, Tyzai D. Mazyck, Nariyah Mazyck and Dwannah McKnight-Medina; his great grandchildren, Noah Caleb Goncalves, Caleb Isaac Goncalves and Zylis Mazyck; and his siblings, Lucretia Howard, James Allen Mazyck (Sheila) and Kathleen L. Barker-Mazyck. He is also survived by mother of his children, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Curvin K. Council Funeral Home (128 Dwight St, New Haven, CT 06511). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
