She was predeceased by: her husband Angelo L. Gentile, MD; her parents, Philip Eldon and Lucille Leishman Brooks; her son Gabriel Macare; her siblings, Laura Brooks Wight and William F. Brooks; and her niece Linda Wight Mazur.

She is survived by: her daughters, Lucia Macare and Laura Ibsen Kimberly; her grandchildren, Alyssa Buontempo, Michael DeFabio and Leslie Macare; her great grandchildren, Liana Buontempo, Jace Buontempo, Callie Mae DeFabio and Corbin Michael DeFabio; and her nieces and nephews, Leslie Route, Laurie Gray and Leigh Anna Reichenbach.
