He was predeceased by: his parents, João Ribeiro Pata and Conceicao Marques Pata; and his sister Izilda Alberti. He is survived by: his wife Maria Pata (Rendeiro); his children, Irene Walsh, Catherine Pata-Irka and Daniel Pata; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Molly, Timothy, Elizabeth and Charlotte; his great grandchild Nora; and his sisters, Irene Apolinario, Cecilia Kovach, Neide Pinguelo, Lucy Apolinario and Isabel Correia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great nephews.
