Allen J. Sirois Obituary
Allen Sirois, 76, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026 at Norwalk Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Norwalk, CT, Allen was the son of the late Richard and Mildred Sirois and was predeceased by his brother, Richard Sirois.
He leaves behind his wife, Marie Huzina Sirois; sisters-in-law Patti (Nick) Tremonte and Margie (Rocco) Castango; and many nieces and nephews.
Allen joined the Noroton Heights Volunteer Fire Department in 1970, where he was Firefighter of the Year in 1974 and again in 1978. He was Assistant Chief for many years before becoming Chief from 1985-1987.
In 1974, he was hired as a firefighter at the Norwalk Fire Department. After several years on the line, he was promoted to head mechanic. He served the city for 23 years before retiring in 1997.
He was passionate about many things throughout his life, first and foremost his deep and abiding love for animals. He rescued many over the years, always opening his heart and home to those in need, and often said the best part of his day was simply being at home with his beloved pets. He also found great joy and purpose on the water, where he pursued scuba and rescue diving and was involved with Orbit Marine and Butch Hendrick Lifeguard Systems. A licensed captain, he operated Top To Bottom Charters aboard his boat, Scuba Bum II. In later years, he embraced the open road, riding his Harley and taking memorable trips across the country.
Allen was more than a friend to many; he was considered family. If anyone was in need of help, he would be the first to lend a helping hand and never wanted anything in return. He was kind, generous and had a heart of gold. Allen will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him.
Family and friends may gather at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, CT on Thursday, February 12th from 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jerome's Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk, CT on Friday, February 13th at 11:00am. Burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
