Brian E. Balding Obituary
Brian E. Balding, beloved husband of the late Patricia Balding, died on May 24, 2025 at Notre Dame Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 82. Born in England, on July 5, 1942, he was the son of the late Norman and Anne (Green) Balding.
Brian was a firefighter with the Norwalk Fire Department for over 30 years. He was always proud to have carried on the traditions of the retirement dinners and operation of the potato booth at the Oyster Festival. Brian enjoyed vacations with friends and family. He was able to cruise the Caribbean and tour the wild west!
Brian is survived by his daughter Ann Marie Bassett and husband Albe, grandchildren Scott Bassett and wife Sharon and Stephanie (Bassett) Avalos and husband Octavio. He also leaves behind five great grandchildren; Brooklyn and Connor Bassett, Matteo Avalos, Jaylin and Santiago Jimenez. Brian also leaves behind his loving brother Wayne Balding, Godson Todd Bassett, and many nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 4 to 8 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. His. Funeral Services will be held on Friday May 30, at 11 AM at the funeral home, with burial to follow at St. John cemetery, Norwalk.
