With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Catherine Pauling (Norwalk, Connecticut), born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 27, 2025 at the age of 74. She was predeceased by: her son Jeffrey Coward; her siblings, Helen, Sylvia Nelson, Adam, Nathaniel and Henry Jr.; and her parents, Eddie Pauling and Louise Pauling.
She is survived by: her daughters, Akiya and Tasha Pauling; her sisters, Jannie, Ruby Scott, Fannie Dupree, Rosa Bookhardt, Harriet, Trisha Moore, Lillian and Geraldine Blanding; her brothers-in-law, Franklin Bookhardt and Jerome Moore; and her grandsons, Laquan Thompson, Khamani Martin, Manny Hilliard and Dozell Hilliard. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
