Dennis R. Hyde Obituary

Dennis R. Hyde, 78, of Norwalk, died on June 30, 2025 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Norwalk, he was the son of Robert J. and Helen (Gaydosh) Hyde.

He earned his Bachelor's degree from Western Connecticut State University, and worked as a musician and educator. He taught at schools in Trumbull, Westport, Darien and Newtown. Dennis played with the Greenwich and Norwalk Symphony Orchestras, as well as the Westport Community Band, Nash Engineering Band and with the Newtown Marching Band. His career brought him around the world, touring in Romania, four times in Spain, Austria to Australia.

He is survived by his brother Tom Hyde and his wife Sandy, of Monroe, a niece Amanda Klisenbauer, and nephew Chris Hyde.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday July 2 from 4-7 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 3 at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow At St. John Cemetery.
