Dominick Leone Obituary

Dominick Louis Leone, aka Mickey, 89, passed away on August 25, 2026 after a decline in health over the past several years. Mickey was born on May 16, 1937, to Louis and Anne Leone who are pre-deceased, along with his wife Jackie and their son David.

He is survived by his daughter Michele Leone of Bethel, his grandchildren Troy Stumpf of Bethel, Abigail Stumpf of Justin, Texas, and great granddaughter Hadley Stumpf of Vancouver, WA. A big thank you goes out to Susanne Brody of Norwalk who took great care of him over the past several years.

Mickey served his Country in the Navy on the U.S.S. Bennington and was a proud Republican who served Norwalk as a firefighter for 20 years. He also had his hands in local businesses on Washington Street in SoNo back in the 70's; antique shops and laundromats. The Olde Shoppe on Wall Street was where many of his friends would congregate. He was a member of The Norwalk Boat Club, The Eagles Club, and The American Legion. He enjoyed boating on Long Island Sound and often came home with lobster and clams for dinner!After retiring, he spent 20+ happy years as a seasonal Florida resident in Hobe Sound. He will be remembered for his joke telling, quick wit, generosity, and great moves on the dance floor!A Catholic service will be held on Friday, October 16th, 10:30am at St Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk, followed by interment at St John's Cemetery, Richards Avenue in Norwalk.
