Frank J. Young Obituary
Frank J. Young, 69, passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2025, at his home in Norwalk. He was the devoted husband of Lynda (Manuel) Young, with whom he shared 37 years of love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.
Born and raised in Norwalk, Frank was the son of the late Ernest and Josephine (DeLeo) Young. A proud member of the Teamsters, he spent his career as a truck driver, working everywhere from construction sites to movie sets—and he loved every minute of it. Frank didn't just go to work each day—he lived for it. He took immense pride in what he did and never missed an opportunity to share stories from the road with his children, teaching them the value of hard work, humility, and perseverance.
Frank had a rare gift for connecting with people. He genuinely loved helping others—whether it meant offering a hand, lending an ear, or simply showing up when someone needed him. He made friends wherever he went and had a way of making everyone feel like family.
More than anything, Frank was a family man. He was a loving husband, a proud and devoted father, and a deeply affectionate grandfather. His loyal dog, Lucky, was always by his side—a constant companion who brought him peace, comfort, and joy.
He will be remembered for his warm heart, quick wit, love for animals, and the deep care he showed to everyone around him. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his memory will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him.
In addition to his wife Lynda, Frank is survived by their children: Alyssa and her partner Jay, Julia, and Ernest; and his beloved granddaughter, Stella Young. He is also survived by his honorary daughter, Elizabeth Impy, and honorary son, Ian Daves.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, August 10, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Guests are encouraged to bring photographs and share stories as we celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to Adopt-a-Dog in Armonk, NY (https://adopt-a-dog.org).
