George Elio Iacono Obituary
George Elio Iacono, 89, of Norwalk, died on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Ischia, Napoli, Italy, the son of the late Fiore and Virginia (Spennato) Iacono, he was the beloved husband of Mary Theresa (Vena) Iacono for 65 years.
George worked as a greenskeeper for Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk for many years and was a member of St. Ann's Club. He enjoyed gardening, playing the piano and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Theresa, son Fiore Iacono and his wife Milly of Trumbull, two granddaughters Sofia and Olivia "Liv" Iacono, and his sister Lidia Vena.
His family will receive friends on Sunday June 7, from 3 to 6pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Monday, June 8, at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk, with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery- Greens Farms, Westport.
