Helen L. Kucsma Obituary

Helen Lipus Kucsma, a beloved lifelong resident of Norwalk, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on November 22, 2023, at Norwalk Hospital. She now joins her late husband, Julius Kucsma, in eternal rest. Born in Norwalk to the late Joseph and Mary Lipus (Gonczy), Helen was predeceased by her brother, James, who coincidentally departed on the same day in 2007.

Helen was the heart and soul of her family and her life a testament to love, compassion, and unwavering faith. As a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many, she had a remarkable ability to open hearts with her curiosity, genuine concern, and the countless heartfelt anecdotes she generously shared.

Helen's devotion to her loved ones knew no bounds. Her unwavering faith was not just a belief but a guiding force that led her to become a natural caregiver. She dedicated herself to helping friends and community members in times of need, and she tirelessly provided selfless care and attention to her ailing mother, brother, and beloved husband.

Throughout her life, Helen wore many hats, including her role as a dedicated employee and eventually manager at the telephone company. She also cherished the adventures of travel, both near and far, creating fond memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of journeying with her.

Helen's Hungarian heritage was a source of immense pride for her, and she lovingly carried on the traditions of her ancestry. Her involvement in the parish of St. Ladislaus Church allowed her to share her cultural roots with the community. Later in life, she became a dedicated parishioner of St. Matthew's Church, where she continued to nourish her deep spiritual connection.

Helen is survived by her two children, Rosemary Field and her husband Brian of Fairfield, and her son, Julius Kucsma Jr. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Dante and Dylan Field, as well as Kara and Kyle Kucsma.

Helen leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will continue to inspire and uplift all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. In her passing, we celebrate a life well-lived and bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 27 at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the church on Monday, for a brief visitation from 10 to 10:30.
