Jeanne Conlon Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of our beloved Mom. Jeanne Conlon, who peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 24th, 2025 at the remarkable age of 98.
Jeanne was born in South Ozone Park, NY, on May 29, 1927, to Emily DuBar Chichester and was raised by her stepfather, Vincent (Dutch) Chichester.
She found her soulmate William (Bill) Conlon, at Jones Beach, and they were married on July 4th, 1948. Bill left us in 2020 after 72 beautiful years together.
In 1955, Jeanne and Bill relocated from New York to a suburb in Norwalk, Connecticut, where they raised their four children: Kevin (Meg) Conlon, Janice (Gary) Fancher, Darcie (Raymond) Szwec and Daryl (Kieran) O'Hara. They were blessed with six grandchildren: Nicole (Sean) Roberts, Gillian (Cooper) Smithers, Kelly (Cully) Naramore, Christopher (Kaylee) O'Hara, William Szwec and Michael O'Hara as well as three great-grandchildren: Emmett Roberts, Rory Roberts and Wesley Smithers.
After her children were grown, Jeanne joined The Hour Newspaper, working in the Collating Department, and also dedicated her time to volunteering for Meals on Wheels in Norwalk.
Mom had a deep love for all animals, particularly enjoying the company of birds, which she tended to and fed in her later years. She found joy in reading, solving crossword puzzles, sewing and taking car rides to various places.
A very special thank you to her caregiver Ola who has lovingly cared for Jeanne for the past five years. Jeanne's love for her family, friends and neighbors was immense. To her, everyone she encountered was a potential new friend.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday August 29, 2025, 10:30 am at St. Jerome's Church 23 Half Mile Rd. Norwalk with burial to follow at St. Johns Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave. Norwalk.
