John N. Nagy Jr. Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John N. Nagy Jr., who passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, surrounded by the family he cherished above all else.

John's greatest joy in life was his family, especially his beloved wife, Rosemarie Nagy, the love of his life. Their marriage was built on unwavering devotion, loyalty, and enduring love. For many years, John lovingly cared for Rosemarie with extraordinary patience, compassion, and selflessness, demonstrating every day what true love looks like. Through life's joys and challenges, they remained steadfast partners, sharing a bond that inspired all who knew them.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his cherished sister, Carolyn Nagy; his beloved son, Michael Nagy; his daughter-in-law, Stephanie (Lawlor) Nagy; and the light of his later years, his grandson, Everett Nagy, who lovingly called him "Nagyapa," the Hungarian word for grandfather. Becoming a grandfather brought John immense happiness, and nothing made him smile more than spending time with EJ.

John is also survived by his treasured niece and Goddaughter, Lexi Puskas, and her husband, Curtis Wright, both of whom held a special place in his heart. He treasured every dinner shared, every conversation exchanged, and the simple moments together that became some of his most cherished memories.

He also leaves behind the Lawlor Family, who became a beloved extension of his family through Michael and Stephanie. John treasured the bond they shared and was grateful for the love, friendship, and memories they created together.

John also leaves behind his dear neighbors, the Nelson Family, who were like family to him. Through years of friendship and shared moments, they became an important part of his life and brought him great joy.

He was predeceased by his parents, John Nagy Sr. and Marion (Varga) Nagy, and by his sister, Missy Graham.

A proud veteran, John honorably served his country in the United States Navy, embodying the values of dedication, strength, humility, and service throughout his life.

John found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing with his son, Michael, creating memories that will be treasured forever. He enjoyed spending time on the golf course with friends, collecting rare treasures, and sharing the stories behind them. He also had a passion and talent for photography, capturing special moments, beautiful scenery, and everyday memories through his lens.

Above all, John loved deeply. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving grandfather, a caring brother, a loyal uncle, and a steadfast friend. His quiet strength was never more evident than during his courageous battle with cancer, which he faced with grace, resilience, faith, and determination.

Though his family mourns his loss, they find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind and the love he shared so freely. His kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will be remembered always. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk. Burial will be held privately by his family.
