Julia C. Fogle Obituary
Julia C. Fogle, beloved wife of the late Clarence J. Fogle, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026 at the age of 103. She was born on a small farm in Sanford, NC on June 24, 1923 to the late Pearlie Sr. and Lula (Murphy) Chavis.
At the age of 16, Julia relocated to CT where she met her "soul mate", Clarence J. Fogle. They were married November 1, 1940. Together they raised 2 sons and 2 daughters in Norwalk.
She was a very active member of Community Baptist Church in Norwalk and considered the congregation her second family. Once Clarence retired from Valerie Transportation in Norwalk after 26 years of service in 1979, Julia decided it was her time. She completed her High School Diploma then went on to receive her Associates Degree. She worked with the Family and Children's Agency as a nurse's aide/ home health aide for 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was an avid reader and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.
Julia is survived by her two daughters: Judy C. Lovell and Terri-Vanessa Fogle as well as her beloved Daughter In-Law Carmen D. Fogle. Additionally, she is survived by 4 granddaughters: Tania Tolliver, Rebecca Murphy, Melissa Allen and Andrea Lovell-Bennett and 1 grandson Rodney Fogle. She is survived by 9 great grandchildren along with several Nieces and Nephews.
In addition to her husband, Julia was predeceased by her 3 sons: Clarence J. Fogle Jr., James Nash and Eric C. Fogle; 4 brothers and 1 sister: Robert Chavis, Carson (Red) Chavis, Pearlie (Bud) Chavis Jr., Columbus (Lum) Chavis and Geneva Miller. She was also predeceased by a granddaughter Kimberly Crawford along with several Nieces and Nephews.
