It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Laura S. Blackwell (Norwalk, Connecticut), born in Camden, South Carolina, who passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Louis F. Blackwell; her sibling Almeta Stewart Jacobs; and her parents, Bernice Stewart and Theodore Stewart. She is survived by : her brother Theodore "Bubba" Stewart; her daughter Audrey Lowery (Eugene); her stepson Elgin Blackwell; her daughter Paulette Powell; her grandchildren, Sydney Lowery, Gene Travis Lowery and Kiki Blackwell; her great grandchildren, Natavious Blackwell and Kiyan Blackwell; and her nephews, Aaron Stewart and Wayne Jacobs. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Bethel AME Church (19 Academy St, Norwalk, CT 06850). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
