Louise O. Murray Obituary

Louise O. Murray passed away on October 29, 2023 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Greenville, N.H. she was the daughter of Camille and Martha Bourgeois and was the wife of Charles J. Murray for 64 years.

She held an Associates degree from Bryant College and later earned a B.A. in General Studies from Framingham State University. She held a variety of positions throughout her life and ended her working career as the director of financial aid for Andover College in Portland, ME.

Louise and her husband raised their family in Newton, MA and later moved to Raymond, ME where they lived for 35 years. She was very involved in the community and served as the registrar of voters for many years. She also volunteered at her library and cooked for the seniors at a local congregate meal site. She was an avid reader and knitter, loved classical music, dogs and the outdoors. After moving to Norwalk, she was an active member of the Norwalk Senior Center.

Louise is survived by her brother Charles Bourgeois, daughter Martha Murray and son-in-law Jung-Hsin Yang, daughter Katherine Murray, daughter Bridget and son-in-law Brian Kane and granddaughter Charlotte Kane.

Her family will be making arrangements for a private memorial service at an appropriate time. Donations in her memory may be made to the Norwalk Public Library or the Norwalk Senior Center.
