Margaret Mary Staack Obituary

Margaret Mary Hines Staack, a proud lifelong resident of Norwalk, took her last journey from her own home to join her Lord and loving family at the age of 101 on April 30, 2025.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles D. Staack, her parents, William and Catherine Deegan Hines, her brothers Hugh Hines, William Hines, John Hines, Edward Hines, sisters-in-law Ruth Hines, Donna Hines, and Shirley Staack, and her brothers-in-law Michael Tracey and Alan Staack.

She will live on in the cherished memories of her loving son, Charles W. Staack and his wife Mary, and her beloved grand-daughters Rory Staack and Caterina Tierney and her husband Adam. She leaves her beloved and devoted sister, Joan Tracey, her nieces, nephews, goddaughters Eileen Pappolla and Roberta Sinatara, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and her bridge buddies.

Peggy was born at the family home on Eversley Avenue and graduated from Norwalk High School. She was an employee of Devine Brothers for many years and worked during the war years in West Virginia as a phone operator, the only time in her long life she did not live in Norwalk. She volunteered at the Norwalk Hospital Treasure House and was a devoted parishioner at St. Thomas Church.

She married the love of her life in 1956, Charlie, and with their family around them, they raised a magnificent son, ran the family construction business, traveled, and enjoyed every party and holiday dancing, raising a glass, and making all who entered their home welcome.

The family will be forever grateful for the loving care at the end of Peg's days by Adrienne Dickens and Cynthia Sanders.

Peg loved, and was loved by the furry crowd, and her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory be directed to the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary of Newtown, CT.

At the request of the family there will be no calling hours. Her funeral mass will take place Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 10am at St. Mary's Church, Norwalk, Ct., with burial immediately following at St. John's Cemetery in Norwalk, CT.
