Marie E. Ceglia Obituary

Marie Elaine Ceglia peacefully passed surrounded by her family, on April 23, 2026. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Yolanda Angelina (Giamo) Sannicandro.

She retired from the Norwalk school system, where she worked as a secretary and special education aide.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends and neighbors, family-style Sunday dinners and talking with everyone she came in contact with.

Mama Cegs, as she was affectionately known by many, will live eternally in the hearts, memories and stories of her husband of 60 years, Paul, her brothers Rudy and Lenny, her children Paul Jr., Christopher and Jillian, her son and daughter in-laws John and Sharon and her 14 grandchildren.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, May 1, from 6 – 8 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Matthew Church at a later date, to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Stjude.org).
