Mario Rende Obituary

Mario Rende, beloved husband of the late Donna (McIntosh) Rende, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026 at the age of 74. He was born in Cosenza, Italy on December 27, 1951 to the late Serafino and Eugenia (Aiello) Rende.

Mario is survived by his daughter Kelly Molyneaux (Chris) and his son Michael Rende. He also leaves behind his beloved granddaughters, Sophia and Stella, who always put a smile on his face. Mario is also survived by his brothers Joe Rende (Beverly) and Frank Rende (Josephine) and sisters Concetta Picone (Domenic) and Elvira Accocella (John). He is also survived by his sister-in-law Cheryl Vallejo (Fernando) and brother-in-law Tom McIntosh (Erin). Along with many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he cherished. He was predeceased by his sister Emma DeMeo (Benny).

Mario worked for ShopRite for 39 years and retired as grocery manager in 2018. He enjoyed spending countless hours tending to his yard, he was most proud of his tomatoes. Some of his favorite pastimes included watching baseball and playing softball with his friends. He also loved spending time with his granddaughters and grand-dogs. Donna and Mario made many treasured memories together with their favorite cousins, Debbie and Brian. Ending the day with a nice glass of Italian wine was his simple pleasure.

There will be a funeral Mass on Monday May 11, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Matthews Church, 216 Scribner Ave. Norwalk, CT. Burial will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave. Norwalk, CT.
