Mark Smith Obituary

Sunday, February 1 from 10-12, with a prayer service to be held at noon. at the Magner Funeral Home 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.

Mark Smith, 73, loving husband of Joan Smith, died on January 16, 2026 surrounded by his family at his home in Norwalk. Born and raised in Rowayton, the son of the late Alexander and Helen (Reynolds) Smith, he was also predeceased by his first wife Patricia (Miley) Smith.

Mark was a man of discipline, order, and quiet integrity. Mark retired as Chief Operator for the Second Taxing District Water Dept.

Mark enjoyed fishing, spending time on the water. Mark was an avid NASCAR fan and member of the NSRA. He loved the old Danbury car races. He appreciated classic cars and hot rods were his specialty.

He is survived by his wife Joan, step-son Anthony Pellagrino III, and his wife Heather, step-daughter Heather DeMassa and her husband Doug, and step-daughter Lillian Oliveira and her husband Michael, as well as grandchildren, two sisters Jane Graham and her husband Walt, Alice Sullivan and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends with a prayer service officiated by Rev. John Livingston at noon.
