Mary O. Walczuk Obituary

Mary O. Walczuk, age 99½, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, in Leawood, Kansas. She was a longtime resident of Norwalk, Connecticut. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry W. Walczuk, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Born on October 18, 1926, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Mary was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Sophie (Korolyshyn) Labinsky.

Mary was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and a devoted supporter of UConn men's and women's basketball. Later in life, she became a keen follower of the Kansas City Chiefs. She took great joy in hearing about her family's activities and accomplishments. Mary was a dedicated puzzler and brought her characteristic competitive spirit to every game of Bingo and Rummikub.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert Walczuk of California, John Walczuk of Kansas, and Ron Walczuk of Connecticut; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Harry, she was predeceased by her brothers Steve, Stosh, Michael, Peter, and her sisters Jenny and Helen.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 27th at 9:00 a.m. at St. Vladimir Cathedral, 24 Wenzel Terrace, Stamford, CT . Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 124 Rock Rimmon Road, Stamford, CT.

She will be remembered with love and deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
