Phillip Catugno Obituary
Phillip (Phil) R. Catugno, 89, of Norwalk, husband of the late Mary (Reda) Catugno, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025.
Born and raised in Norwalk, Phil was the son of the late Frank Catugno and Mary (Romanelli) Catugno Satta. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother William Catugno and his sister, Jennie Boccarossa.
Phil attended Norwalk schools and worked for many years in the swimming pool industry, as well as in construction. He was strong, hardworking, and never afraid of a challenge. He was the kind of man who could carry a refrigerator on his back without a second thought. Known for his determination and straightforward nature, Phil made countless friends along the way.
Outside of work, Phil enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies. He loved fishing, clamming and making wine, sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting the casinos, a Sunday tradition he faithfully kept for many years.
Phil is survived by his brothers, Stephen (Monica) Catugno and Charles Catugno; his sisters Carol Satta Warzenski, Angela (Peter) Wood and Adeline DiPietro, and many nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. with a prayer service to begin at 11a.m., at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk, CT. Interment will follow immediately as St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk.
