Ralph Donald Odierno Obituary

Ralph Donald Odierno, 87, of Norwalk, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, at Regional Hospice in Danbury. He shared 65 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Claire Chariott Odierno, who predeceased him on August 22, 2022.

Born June 27, 1938, in the Bronx, New York, Ralph was the cherished son of Ralph and Nancy Odierno and one of six children. For more than 50 years, he dedicated himself to Professional Pharmacy in Norwalk, becoming a steady, friendly presence to coworkers and customers and a familiar face in the community.

Ralph is survived by his sons, Craig Odierno (Lisa) and Guy Odierno (predeceased Jean); his grandchildren, Patrik David Odierno, Kyle Thomas Odierno, Bill Odierno (Lauren), and Anthony Odierno; and his great-grandchildren, Joanna and Wyatt. He is also survived by his sister, Rita Miele. He was predeceased by his siblings Antoniette (Nettie) Tagliaferro, Anthony (Louie) Odierno, Vincent Odierno, and Donald Odierno.

A generous spirit, Ralph was a dedicated Yale apheresis donor, regularly giving platelets and other blood components to help patients in need.

Ralph treasured time with family at their beach house in Madison, Connecticut—especially the themed Fourth of July picnics he planned, complete with spectacular fireworks. He found joy in the simple pleasures: painting, bike rides, sunbathing, baking, and listening to his favorite opera tenor, Luciano Pavarotti. Family vacations were another highlight, and Patrik and Kyle always joined him—they were a great source of joy. Those travels included trips to Alaska, Bermuda, Canada, Lake Placid, the Bahamas, Florida, as well as many cruises. Above all, Ralph's family was at the heart of everything he did.

Private services to honor Ralph's memory were held at Shady Beach in Norwalk on April 24, 2026.
