Richard Galbo Obituary
Richard J. Galbo, 75, of Norwalk, passed away on March 15, 2026, at Norwalk Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Norwalk, on December 18, 1950 to the late Joseph and Teresa (Ferrigno) Galbo, and predeceased by his brother, Joseph R. Galbo.
Rich was born and raised in Norwalk and a 1968 graduate of Brien McMahon High School. Richard was the former co-owner with his brother Joseph of Sterling Furniture in Norwalk until closing in 1988. and then continued his lifelong career in furniture sales with several local companies in CT and Florida. In addition to his work in the furniture industry, he also held various part time jobs after retirement including providing transportation services.
He served as a Trustee of the Columbus Memorial Scholarship Fund of Norwalk, dedicating his time to supporting local students. He was also an avid sports fan especially baseball and football.
Rich was a devoted father, a loving uncle, brother-in-law, and a loyal friend to many. His warmth, generosity, humor, and steady presence touched all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Joseph M. Galbo (Rene Morgillo-Galbo), and granddaughter, Alana, of Madison, CT; his daughter, Theresa (Michael) Norrholm, his sister-in-law, Rita Chabot Galbo of Norwalk; and his nieces, Nicole Galbo of California and Karen Galbo (Omar Cruz) of Norwalk.
A Celebration of Life will be held at World Alive Bible Church, 539 West Ave., Norwalk on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, (Parking off Arch Street.) at 11:00am.
