Robert J. Cantow Obituary
Robert (Bob) James Cantow, age 89, husband of Mary Cantow, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026. Born in Baltimore, MD, on May 19, 1937, Bob was the son of the late Edward and Cecilia Cantow. He was predeceased by his brother Edward (Teresa), and son in law Joseph Gallucci.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Fordham University and a master's degree from St. John's University. Bob was employed in the accounting industry for over 30 years, ultimately establishing his own firm, Financial Consulting.
Bob found great joy fishing and traveling. He and his wife traveled the globe and loved the adventure each trip would bring. Most of all, Bob loved and adored his role as husband, father and grandfather. Bob was incredibly devoted to his family. They were the center of his world. Bob and his wife of 66 years took great pride and joy raising their three children.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by sons Robert, Donald (Deborah Cantow), and daughter Cynthia. He was blessed with grandchildren Jack, Alli, Caroline, Michael, Kristen and Jacqueline.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Bob's life at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, Friday, July 31 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd. Norwalk, CT on Saturday, August 1, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
