Roseann Russo Obituary

Roseann Festa Russo, 88, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late Generoso and Amelia Festa. After a career at the Fairfield County Savings Bank, she retired and became everyone's "Grammy Rose.".

Rose was predeceased by her husband, retired Norwalk Police Detective Joseph Russo, and is survived by her daughters Joanne Davies of Leland, NC and Petrina (Douglas) Gunsolley of Trumbull. She will be forever remembered by her four loving granddaughters Katherine Davies, Sarah Shapiro, Jenna Tedder and Alexa Gunsolley, and her sister Matilda Besaw, along with many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sisters Mary Manzi, Josephine Purcell, Faye DuBois, Anna Reda, and Helen Barati and her brothers, Sam, Pat and Alfred Festa.

Rose's family would like to thank the staff of Hartford Healthcare Hospice and Brightview Senior Living for their thorough, loving care and friendship shown to her in her time spent with them, and for their kindness and compassion shown in her final days.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23 from 3pm to 7pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. Her Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Friday May 24 at St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk, followed by burial at St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
