Theresa Elizabeth Walsh Obituary

Theresa Elizabeth (Testa) Walsh, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on January 15, 1931, Theresa was a strong, warm, and resilient woman who lived a remarkable life.

Theresa was born into a wonderful, large Italian family of Norwalk, CT. She was the cherished eldest daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina Testa and one of eight siblings. She is predeceased by her four older brothers, Sam, Mike, Joe, and Andrew Testa and survived by her dear sisters, Connie Matthews, Angela Robidas, and Nancy Craw. She was the devoted wife of the late Walter Walsh. Theresa also recently endured the heartbreaking loss of her eldest daughter, JoAnn Lindwall.

She is survived by her daughters, Gale Pennell (Joe Calzone) of Easton, CT, and Donna Blosser of Westport, CT and her step-daughter, Pam Torsiello of West Hartford, CT. She leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren: Scott Lindwall of Fairfield, CT, Mark Lindwall of Westport, CT, Amanda Lockhart of Auckland, New Zealand, Briana Pennell of Fairfield, CT, Mackenzie Pennell Gleeson of Greenwich, CT, Stephanie Wilcox of Pomfret, CT, and Sarah Blosser of Louisville, KY, along with 15 treasured great-grandchildren…her "honey bees" and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and lifelong friends who brought endless joy to her life.

Theresa was deeply loved and admired by all who knew her. Strong-willed yet endlessly compassionate, she possessed a natural maternal spirit. As the first daughter born after four brothers, she became a nurturing presence within her family from an early age. She was also extremely resilient, raising three daughters while working as an assistant bookkeeper at the A&P in Norwalk, CT for many years. Later, she became a devoted grandmother and aunt, always offering to help care for her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Theresa offered love, guidance, and unwavering support to those around her, and we are forever grateful for her impact on our lives.

Her life was filled with simple joys and meaningful passions. Theresa loved reading, crocheting blankets for family, treasure hunting at tag sales, and collecting antiques.

She was also an avid gardener who had many stunning perennial gardens. She delighted in sharing flowers with anyone who stopped to admire them, just as she freely shared her kindness and wisdom with everyone fortunate to know her. Young and old alike were drawn to her warmth.

Theresa passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She was supported by her two caring aides, Edline and Daphnie during the past year. Though the world feels different without her presence, her memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved her, and the love she gave so freely will continue to bloom for generations to come.

Visitation for Theresa will be held at Magner Funeral Home , Norwalk on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 4-7 p.m.
