Vincenzo Scicchitano Obituary
Vincenzo Scicchitano, 87, beloved husband of Maria Caterina (Ferraina) Scicchitano for 70 years, died on October 7, 2026 at Norwalk Hospital.
Born in Girifalco, Italy, son of the late Cosimo and Catherine (Migiazza) Scicchitano, he was the owner of Vincent's Barber Shop in West Redding for over 50 years.
He was a member of the St. Philip Parish, St. Ann's Club, and a bocce player with the Rebecca DiPanni Memorial Bocce League. He was very proud that his bocce team, Happy Hour, came in first place this summer. Vinny enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards and getting his daily scratch off lottery tickets. Most of all he cherished his time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who he had the privilege to see almost every day of their lives. We are all blessed to share so many fond memories.
In addition to his loving wife Catherine, Vinny is survived by their sons, Vincent Scicchitano and his wife Maria, and Cosmo Scicchitano and his wife Cheryl, four cherished grandchildren, Amanda Antunes and her husband Robert, and Taylor Scicchitano and his wife Haley Doran, and Rachel (Scicchitano) Roig and her husband Rob, and Brandon Scicchitano, as well as two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Isla Antunes.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 14 at 10:00 AM at St. Philip Church, One Fr. Conlon Place, Norwalk, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: St. Philip Church.
