William Edward Grace Obituary
William Edward Grace, 68, of Norwalk died on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Stamford Hospital. Born in Norwalk, son of the late Kenneth Wilson Grace and Edna (Cosgrove) Grace. Bill was a graduate of Sacred Heart Univ. - Class of 1974, and had worked for many years in the accounting dept. at General Electric in Stamford and Norwalk.
He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 12, where his father was a past commander, and the Ischoda Yacht Club. An avid sports fan, he followed the Red Sox, Bruins, Knicks, and was a fan of the Oakland Raiders since the 60's. He also enjoyed singing at family and social events.
Bill is survived by his brother Kenneth Grace and his wife Mary Rose McQuillan of Shelton, and their children, Iris (Jacob) Heimer of Fairfield, Cydney McQuillan-Grace of NY and Ian McQuillan-Grace and Luiza Christofi of Warsaw, Poland, and great niece Theodosia Rose Heimer, and great-nephew Tobias Wynn Heimer, as well as several loving cousins. Bill is also survived by his steadfast best friend, Nicole Fatone, and her children Joseph, Grace and Nicholas.
His family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Stamford Hospital for their kindness and compassion shown to Bill in his final days..
His family will receive friends on Monday, May 6 from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. His Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM at St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk, followed by burial at St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers. Memorial donations may be made by check to American Legion Post 12' and can be sent to 60 County Street, Norwalk, CT 06851.
