Elizabeth A. Watson Obituary

Elizabeth (Betty) Anne Watson of Norwich, Connecticut passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the age of 76. Betty fought to live, but lost her battle after an extended period of decline from Lewy Body Dementia. Betty was born in Providence, RI on May 29, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Meagher) Moccio. She was predeceased by her only sibling, brother Michael. Betty graduated from Ponaganset High Scool in Glocester, RI. After her marriage to Daniel Watson, they settled in Norwich, CT for 52 wonderful years.

She is survived by her husband Daniel Watson and their children Holly and Kevin Watson, all of Norwich. She is also survived by numerous cousins.

Prior to having children, Betty worked in the office of Norwich City Manager Charles Whitty. After being a stay at home mom, she was employed at Amgraph, and Spiritual Renewal Services Diocese of Norwich, Connecticut.

Betty enjoyed going on family vacations. She loved keeping in touch with relatives and friends. Although she no longer had a dog, Betty immensely enjoyed going with Dan to visit all the friendly dog parents and their dogs in the little dog section of the Norwich dog park. It was great therapy to go there as her illness progressed. Her favorite treats were chocolate and ice cream.

There will be a service and celebration of life on Wednesday, July 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Godere Funeral Home, 21 North Second Avenue, Taftville, CT in accordance with family wishes buriel will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made by check to Thames Valley Council for Community Action, Inc., TVCCA's nutrition programs, 1 Stockhouse Road, Bozrah, CT 06334.
