He was predeceased by: his parents, Lukas Pheiffer and Gertruida Pheiffer (Myburgh); his former wife Christine Lombard; and his brothers, Gert and Jakobus "Kobus" Pheiffer.

He is survived by: his wife Laurie S. (MacLachlan); his grandchildren, Marthinus "Thinus" Kruger, Melissa Zandberg, Kaylee "Kay" Whitehead, Aedan, Logan Russo, Winter and Everest Maguire; and his children, Barentia "Rentia" Zandberg of South Africa, Lizette Ridgard (Stephen) of South Africa, Nicolette "Nicky" Whitehead of South Africa, Lize-Mari Russo (Adam) of Old Lyme, CT and Chantel Maguire (Wyatt) of Foxboro, MA..
