He was predeceased by : his wife Kathryn M. Lyman (Tangney); his parents, Raymond J. and Mary E. Lyman (Phalen); his wife Kay of Valentine's Day; and his brother-in-law Michael J. Tangney.

He is survived by : his daughters, Susan A. (John Santopietro) and Sandra K. (James O. Brodeur) of Watertown; his grandsons, Patrick J. Brodeur and Ryan J. Santopietro; and his pet Dip.
