Though John may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth VanDerLaan (Tingley) and John VanDerLaan Sr.; and his significant other Linda VanDerLaan. He is survived by: his sons, John VanDerLaan, III (Maria) of Naples, Florida and William F. VanDerLaan of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his grandchildren, John VanDerLaan (Hannah), Michael VanDerLaan (Allie), Julia VanDerLaan, Bill VanDerLaan (Michelle) and Brandon VanDerLaan; and his sister Ruth Nached of Summerfield. He is also survived by his wife, his children and his grandchildren.
