He is survived by: his wife Elaine Kleine Smith (Falck); his children, Joelle Smith and Nathan Smith; his stepchildren, John Kleine (Kristen) and Alyson Kleine (Joseph); his grandchildren, Vivian, Nicholas and Annalisa; his stepgrandchildren, Alyssa, Julia and Mason; and his great grandchildren, Finnegan, Stella and Delilah Haase.
