He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Sylvestre and Beatrice Sylvestre (Morse); his wife Marguerite (Leclair); his brothers, Alicid and Donat Sylvestre; and his sons, Marc and Peter Sylvestre.

He is survived by: his brother Gerald; his daughter Renee Dzurenka; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Richards, Laura Dzurenka, Nycole Sylvestre, Samantha Sylvestre, Nicholas Sylvestre and Andrew Dzurenka. He is also survived by three great grand children and several nieces and nephews.
