He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter E. Alsfeld and Lovell Alsfeld (Haines); and his sister Mary Lou O'Neill. He is survived by: his wife Sigrid Nordlund of Pomfret, CT; his former wife Elaine Alsfeld; his children, Patricia McCarthy (Rui Dias), Richard W. Alsfeld, Jr. (Susan) of Saunderstown, RI and Kristin Waterman (Robert) of Johnston, RI; and his grandchildren, Brooke Alsfeld (Cal Meachem) of Norwalk, CT and Sydney Alsfeld of Saunderstown, RI..
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Ri Veterans Cemetery (301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822).
