With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Long of Portland, Connecticut, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 15, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Watson A. and Mary Hale, Sr. (Dingwell); her husband Edward F. Long, Sr.; her sons, Edward Jr. and Gary; and her siblings, Patricia Long (Hale) and Watson Andrew Hale, Jr..

She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Arcand (Michael) of Portland and Mary Eccles (Timothy) of Portland; her niece Cindy Granata; her daughters, Deborah and Karen; and her sister Harriet Sanborn (William). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren & several great grandchildren.
