With sadness, we share the passing of Basil W. Standish Jr. of Preston, Connecticut. Basil, born on November 10, 1937, passed away on October 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Basil for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. He was predeceased by: his parents, Basil W. Standish, Sr. and Doris Kennedy Standish; his wife Judith Dowe; his brother Robert; his sister-in-law Janice Satchell; and his niece Laura Satchell.
He is survived by: his brothers, Myles (Angela) of Pensacola and Raymond (Maureen) of Stafford Springs; his brother-in-law William Satchell of Palermo, Maine; and his close friend Sandra Haun of Somers. He is also survived by several cousins; three generations of nieces and nephews.
