He is survived by: his spouse Jean Varner (Auger); his children, William R. Varner, Jr. of Putnam, CT and Becky Owen of Dayville, CT; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Dylan, Joshua, Justin, Jessie and Scott. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, and many extended family.
