He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James (Jim) and Mary McCarthy, Sr. (Hartnett); his brother Joseph (Joe); his grandson Brendan; his wife Joan Tanajewski; his children, Michael McCarthy of Oakdale, Kelly McCarthy of Quaker Hill and Shannon Goldstein (Ken Goldstein) of East Windsor; his grandchildren, Lindsay, Brentt, Logan, Chase and Kaden; his great grandchild Reid; his siblings, Patrick McCarthy, Joe McCarthy of Quaker Hill, Terry McCarthy of Niantic, Mary Ellen Deurr, Noreen Kepple of Stonington, Eileen Boyce of Waterford and Cathy McCarthy of Pawcatuck; and his sister-in-law Marianne Vlaun (Fred) of Waterford.
