She was predeceased by: her parents, James Patterson and D. Elizabeth Morrison "Betty" Patterson. She is survived by: her husband Rawson Richardson Cowen III; her children, Sarah Slavin (Kyle) of Medfield, MA, Blythe Cowen (Tristan) of Foxborough, MA and Emily Masino (Paul); and her grandsons, Mason, Cooper and Landon Masino of Westport, CT..
