He was predeceased by : his parents, Adrian Pongetti and Joan Pongetti; and his mother-in-law Betty Boucher. He is survived by : his wife Phyllis; his children, Tiffany Pron (Bill) of Acworth, GA and Gary Pongetti, Jr. (Ginger) of Dallas, GA; his siblings, Linda Jennings, Carol Sousa (Brian), Judy Cassidy (Harry) and Chris Pongetti; and his grandchildren, Bailey Pron, Rylie Padgett, Billy Pron, Aydree Pron, Michael Pongetti, Alexander Pongetti, Vincent Pongetti and Joseph Pongetti. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in honor of SFC Gary Pongetti.

“So sorry to hear about the passing of Gary. My prayers are for his family. Gary was a childhood friend. Our fathers worked together with Morganti INC. We did many things together. I remember when we had our go-carts and we would ride them at the shopping Center below the old A&P on Danbury Road. Also may years ago when our family got together in their Ridgefield CT home we would slide down the wood stairs in card board boxes. We always had fun as kids. RIP Gary fly away with the Angels.”
