He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Gilchrist (Hannan) and John M. Gilchrist; and his son John Gunning Gilchrist. He is survived by: his wife Ann Marie Gilchrist (McGovern); his daughters, Betty Ann Meny (Robert) of Redding and Linda Andrews (Michael) of Ridgefield; his grandchildren, Jessica (Kevin Kolahi), Ryan Gilchrist (Julia), Brynn, Nicholas, Scott Gilchrist, Paxton Meny, Patrick, Caitlin and Brendan Andrews; and his great grandchildren, Claire Kolahi, Margot and Phoebe Gilchrist.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Kane Funeral Home (25 Catoonah St, Ridgefield, CT 06877). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Mary's Church (55 Catoonah St, Ridgefield, CT 06877).
