He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn Newcombe (Thurston); his parents, Lawrence Newcombe and Marion Newcombe; his sons, Keith Newcombe, Kevin Newcombe and Kert Newcombe; and his brothers, Earl and Floyd.
He is survived by: his sons, Ken (Terry) of Ocala and Joe Newcombe Jr. (Damaris) of East Hartford; his daughters-in-law, Beth Newcombe of Middlefield and Jackie Newcombe of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Kevin Newcombe (Rachel), Katie Cunningham, Joe Newcombe III (Elsie) and Chris Newcombe (Fayth Scharf-Owens); his great grandchildren, Leah, Lottie, Nora and Marlee; and his siblings, Howie (Marion), Ilene Gordon (Ivan), Chuck (Barb), Larry (Pam), Ethel, Mary and Dorothy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
