He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Stead and Ella Nora Stead (Aiken); and his sister Gertrude Vitale (Nicholas). He is survived by: his wife Eunice Stead (Huggins); his grandchildren, Colleen Wellington-Caban (Jon), Mary Kate Schumacher (Stephen), Sean Wellington (Jenna), John Costa, III, Heather Costa, Molly Stead and Hunter Stead; and his great grandchildren, Quinn and Rowan Schumacher.
