He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles H. Hayden and Marguerite F. Hayden; his brother-in-law Anthony DiGuilio; his siblings, Gail Hayden, Robert Hayden and Charles Hayden; and his grandson Cameron Gilligan.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Hayden (Ruocco) of Bradford, MA; his daughters, Gina Hayden (Carole Selner) of New Burn, NC and Gretchen Hayden of Shelton, CT; his grandson Michael Grant Gilligan (Brittany Dutch); and his siblings, Mark Hayden (Margot), Thomas Hayden (Marian) and Andrea DiGulio (Hayden).
