Lillian C. Wannagot Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lillian C. Wannagot of Shelton, Connecticut, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 20, 2026 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert R. Wannagot; her parents, Charles J. Gavin and Gertrude H. Gavin (Fowler); her son James J. Wannagot; her son-in-law John Ottwell; and her siblings, Joan Carrasquillo, Mary DiLisio, William, Charles and Donald Gavin.
She is survived by: her children, Robert D. Wannagot (Judi) of Port St, David B. Wannagot (Potin) of Yulee, FL, Gary A. Wannagot (Carrie) of Gilbert, AZ and Lisa M. Ottwell of Shelton; and her daughter-in-law Lori Wannagot of Milford. She is also survived by grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home (167 Wakelee Ave, Ansonia, CT 06401). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Margaret Mary Church (50 Donovan Ln, Shelton, CT 06484).
