He is survived by: his daughter Linda Jeanne Hurst (Mark); his wife Meredith Hurst; his son Stephen Hurst (Linda); his grandchildren, Karen Smith (William), Eric Hurst (Rayane), Douglas Hurst (Maddie), Ryan, Damon Adams, Jeffrey and Collin Smith; and his great grandchildren, Harper, Oliver and Penelope Hurst.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Alban's Episcopal Church.
