She was predeceased by : her parents, John Lewis Gouger and Jessie S. Gouger (Sifford); her brother John S. Gouger of Chapel Hill, NC; and her aunts and uncles, Brettie Black, Lois Henkle, Pat Sifford, Lib Rotan, Art Sifford and John "Big Johnnie" Sifford.
She is survived by : her husband John H. Schaefer; her sisters-in-law, Cindy Schaefer of Stafford Springs and Roberta Schaefer of Windsor; her nieces, Julie Eaton (Mark) of Stafford Springs and Jill Schaefer; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Simran and Rowan Singh of Simsbury; her nephew Jeffery Schaefer (Alondra) of North Hollywood, CA; and her caregiver Nurzaada "Nora" Sadirbek Kyzy. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
