He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Apel (Dresser); his parents, George A. Apel and Doris Apel (Gerstenlauer); his son Donald M. Apel; his sister Betty Lou Smith (Apel); his son-in-law Laurent Veilleux; and his sister-in-law Grace Billings (Dresser).
He is survived by: his significant other Joan Dresser; his children, Allen F. Apel (Jayne) of East Hartford, CT and Cheryl Veilleux of Lyndonville, VT; his grandchildren, Andrew Apel (Caitlin) of Northboro, MA, Emily Lin (Peter) of Melbourne, FL, Yvonne Deady (Joe) of Ware, MA and Kayla Veilleux (Quintin Tomasi) of Lyndonville, VT; his great grandchildren, Ty, Ryan Lin, Ethan and James Apel; his sisters, Sandra Finley (Apel) of Moosup, CT and Charmaine Hancock (Apel) of Huntersville, NC; and his sister-in-law Janet Belber (Jerry) of Brimfield, MA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
